This committee meeting organized by the National Parks Management of Senegal had two objectives, that of structuring the module " the analysis of the governing of the protected coastal and marine areas of West Africa ", and of favoring the national and regional synergy as well as the diffusion of results. The debates were based on the syntheses of the modules " methods of access and the regulation of access to renewable resources " and " the analysis of public policy ", on the agricultural, agro-forestry, and breeding syntheses of the module " the dynamics of exploitation and development of renewable resources " as well as on the notes sent by each committee. The second semester of the year 2004 will be dedicated to the definition of the concept of a framework of governing, and to the proposition of plans of the application of governing in view of the elaboration of the options of public policy during the first semester of 2005.
